    IP Strategy

Luzzatto and Luzzatto consults to clients in order to optimize their IP strategy. With its importance to the economy, we believe IP strategy can become a strategic axis of differentiation for a company. When forming an IP strategy, it is very important to take into account many factors, such as the current stage of development, the professional and commercial aspirations of the company, relevant markets, and the need for capital raising. When consulting with an experienced patent attorney with a specialty in IP strategy, all these factors are considered along with all relevant types of protection.

IP plays a crucial role in the global economy and all companies, no matter their size, should have a strategic plan to protect their IP. Too often, companies and inventors rush to file patent applications without taking into account the importance of a full IP strategy and its influence on the long-term strategy of the company. It is of paramount importance to define a strategy for the company’s IP, which meets the company’s current needs and can be easily updated when those needs evolve, or when new challenges appear.

The absence of a cohesive IP strategy can be detrimental to the company’s ability to establish its true value. A company should develop an IP strategy that takes into account its technical, financial and human resources. Once it identifies a coherent IP strategy, this should be integrated into its global strategy. Luzzatto and Luzzatto helps companies formally define their IP strategy, IP policy and corresponding procedures.

Understanding how IP assets can be best created, protected and utilized to bring a competitive advantage is a key aspect of our IP strategy offering. Luzzatto and Luzzatto has a history of placing great importance on devising IP strategies for its clients, not only in the patent field but also in other IP matters, such as trademarks, designs, and related rights. Investing the effort in creating the right IP strategy will save trouble down the line, while optimizing the company’s IP, saving future costs.
